English: Howdon Metro station, Tyne & Wear Opened in 1839 by the Newcastle and North Shields Railway, later part of the North Eastern Railway, this station closed in 1980. It was rebuilt and reopened as a Metro station in 1982. View east towards Percy Main and North Shields. The original station had both platforms on this side of the level crossing with a two storey station building on the right-hand (westbound) platform. |
