English: View to the fjord of Hov, Hovsfjørður in Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. The two piles of stones show where the grave of Viking Chieftain Havgrímur is. It is said, that his horse is buried under the cairn which is in the foreground on this photo and that Havgrímur is buried under the cairn just next to the other one. Havgrímur lived in the 10th century, he was killed on the island Stóra Dímun around year 970 according to Føroyingasøga. The islet on this photo is called Hovshólmur, it belongs to the village Porkeri, which is just south of the mountain Kambur. The village Hov is below this hill, but it is not visible on this photo. The population of Hov is around 100. The old road Hov-Øravík is just above this place and goes around the mountain to the left, just next to the road just before the road turns around the mountain there are some curious basalt formations. The road is called "Vegurin um Hovsegg" in Faroese. This photo was taken on 19 June 2010 in the morning.
