Description
English: The statue of Queen Victoria by Thomas Brock was unveiled on 21st January 1890, by Lord Loch in commemoration of the first Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen, and is situated in the Gardens enclosure facing the Legislative Council entrance to the House of Parliament (1875). The Town Council contributed £500 towards the cost, and the public of Cape Town also subscribed £500, whilst the Government supplied the pedestal, which is made from Paarl granite.
This media shows a South African Protected Site with SAHRA file reference 9/2/018/0234.
