English: House named Freemantle, King Lane, Over Wallop According to the History of Over Wallop (see http://www.thewallops.net/OWallop/Village.htm ), a "Window tax" was levied from 1696 to 1851 on houses having more than six windows. According to Hampshire County Council's Historic Buildings Register, this house dates from 1735. The lefthand two windows on the first floor are bricked up. |
