Description

Goldener Löwe Hotel, Eisenach. An important place in the history of Social Democracy in Germany. The SPD was reformed in Eisenach in late 1989. Since 1991 the home of the August-Bebel-Gesellschaft e.V. It was here in this hotel that in 1869 August Bebel and Wilhelm Liebknecht founded the Social Democratic Workers' Party.

At this time, and since March 1967, the party had dedicated the building as the <a href="http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gedenkst%c3%a4tte_Goldener_L%c3%b6we" rel="nofollow">Gedenkstätte Eisenacher Parteitag 1869</a> The sign above the door remains unchanged today, reading Gedenkstätte.
