Description
English: Gil Blas at Corcuello's, after the picaresque novel Gil Blas (in French: L'Histoire de Gil Blas de Santillane) by Alain-René Lesage. The painting depicts a scene where the hero, Gil Blas, having sold his mule, is tricked by the landlord of an inn, Corcuello, his wife and the gentleman with the sword into ordering and paying for a meal of eggs, fish and a great deal of wine.
