Description
English: Program of The Horseless Carriage Exhibition, held 15th October 1895 at the Agricultural Gardens, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. This was the first motor vehicle show in the United Kingdom. It was organized by three motoring pioneers, the mayor of Tunbridge Wells, electric engineer Sir David Salomons, Frederick Simms and Sir Evelyn Ellis, who was the first buyer of a Motor car in Great Britain. Six motor vehicles were announced, a motor carriage and a fire engine by Panhard & Levassor, a Peugeot vis-àvis, tricycles by De Dion-Bouton and Clément-Gladiator, and a De Dion-Bouton steam tractor with Victoria Trailer. The ladder was not present, but the Count de Dion and Georges Bouton were, among many personalities influental with the British Motor industry. This is a reproduction of the original program which appeared in a Motor Magazine article dated 3rd Program of The Horseless Carriage Exhibition, held 15th October 1895 at mber, 1908.
