English: Hornfels with pinite (= muscovite mica replacing intergrown cordierite-indialite; “cherry blossom stones”), Tamba Group, Mesozoic (Triassic to lowermost Cretaceous), ~98 m.y. contact metamorphic date.

Locality: at or near Mikata, Mikata District, Fukui Prefecture, Honshu Island, southern Japan.
