[edit]DescriptionHopewell Junction CNE Station; 2021-11-22 (cropped).jpg |
English: View of Hopewell Junction Central New England Railway Depot from the north looking south along the driveway to the parking lot off of Railroad Avenue just before that road ends in Hopewell Junction, New York. Hopewell Junction Depot originally served the Newburgh, Dutchess and Connecticut Railroad, the New York and New England Railroad and Dutchess County Railroad, all three of which became part of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, and assigned under their subsidiary known as the Central New England Railway from 1899 to 1927. Today, the station is a landmark along the Metro-North Beacon Line and serves as a trailhead for the Dutchess Rail Trail and the Maybrook Trailway. It was also added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 24, 2021.
