English: Hope Gap Looking where the footpath from South Barn crosses the cliff top walk from Seaford to Cuckmere Haven. Beyond are the steps which enable access to the beach below. The gap was one of a number of 18th and 19th century access routes for local smugglers bringing contraband up from the beach below. |
