Description
English: Honoring the flag during the commissioning ceremony for the guided missile destroyer USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG-51) are, from left: ADM David E. Jeremiah, vice chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff; H. Lawrence Garrett III, secretary of the Navy; Richard Cheney, secretary of defense; CDR John G. Morgan Jr., commanding officer of the ARLEIGH BURKE and retired ADM Arleigh Burke. The destroyer is one of the few U.S. Navy vessels to be named after a living person.
