Description
Hon. Thomas Reynolds arrived in South Australia in 1840. Grocer, pioneer jam manufacturer. Director of the S.A. Insurance Company, he was the fifth Premier of South Australia serving from 9th May 1860 to 8th October 1861. He was a shrewd businessman, good treasurer but his fiery temperament prevented him from becoming a top rank politician. He was a pioneer in jam making and raisin curing in South Australia. He was drowned near the Great Barrier Reef along with his wife Anne Litchfield.Thomas Reynolds arrived in South Australia in 1840. Grocer, pioneer jam manufacturer. Director of the S.A. .
