Italiano: Il case in metallo si presenta come un parallelepipedo avente sul fronte una maniglia retrattile e uno sportello che, aperto, si rivela essere il monitor LCD da 10" (monocromo con risoluzione testo 80x25 e grafica 640x200 oppure 320x200). A case aperto, simmetricamente ai lati del monitor, sono visibili due drive per floppy disk da 3,5" (720 kb ciascuno), e in basso la tastiera a 79 tasti ROM 64 kb. Processore: Intel 80C88a 8 bitFrequenza: 4.77 MHzRAM: 256-640 512 kb.


Notizie storico-critiche
Computer portatile IBM 5140 è noto sul mercato italiano con il nome di "Ventiquattrore". Con il cabinet disegnato nell'1985 dal designer tedesco Richard Sapper e prodotto dall'americana IBM a partire dal 1986, è stato uno dei primi portatili apparsi sul mercato. Il monitor LCD e la tastiera sono estraibili e intercambiabili; la parte posteriore del 5140 può alloggiare una stampante che prosegue, nella forma, la linea del computer. Da questa versatilità deriva l'altro suo nome di "Convertible". A macchine di questo tipo si deve il grande merito di aver reso l'informatica una tecnologia alla portata di tutti.
