ELBERTON, Ga. Jan. 10, 2014 - More than 200 Georgia Guardsmen of the 1-214th Field Artillery Battalion are welcomed home by loved ones after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan. The 1-214th FA BN conducted base defense operations in western Afghanistan where they were responsible for command and control of all base defense activities in an area covering approximately 315 square kilometers.
