Summary
[edit]DescriptionHoly Trinity - East Finchley - geograph.org.uk - 159373.jpg |
English: Holy Trinity - East Finchley Designed by Anthony Salvin, who also designed Christ's College on Hendon Lane, Holy Trinity was consecrated in 1846. Originally the church consisted of a nave and chancel. North and south aisles were added in 1866 and 1883 respectively. This is a view of the current main entrance to the church seen from Church Lane. A footpath runs through the graveyard from this entrance to Trinity Avenue behind the church. The Holly hedges, which possibly replaced the original fence following complaints of flower theft from the graves (in 1912), have been invaded by Elder. The church is surrounded by trees, mainly Yew and Pine, making it a difficult location for wedding photographers. |
