Summary
[edit]DescriptionHoly Trinity, the east window - geograph.org.uk - 1630157.jpg |
English: Holy Trinity, the east window This is an impressive example of panel tracery of the perpendicular period for a parish church.
The glass in the lower half is all that remains following the removal of most of the stained glass by the Lord of the Manor, Lord Fortescue, in 1754, apparently because the incumbent complained that it made the church too dark for him to read properly. What remains are a collection of bits and pieces that the irate villagers managed to retrieve following the hasty removal of the bulk. For a detailed view of the glass, see https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/374159. |
