English: The Franciscan Church and Friary is a historic building. Listed ID 7507. The oldest church of Vác belonged to the Franciscans. It stood on the place of the old fortress destroyed during the siege of the Turks in 1685. Using the stones of the fortress, people built a new church in Baroque style in mid 18th century. The main ornament of the church is the richly decorated early Rococo two-storeyed wooden altar. The friary belonging to the church used to give home to György Váczi, the nationally renown bookbinder. A part of the building is now used as archives. (vac.hu) - Géza király Square, Vác, Hungary Magyar: Szent Kereszt templom. Műemléki azonosító: 7507 (törzsszám 7421). Római katolikus volt ferences templom, barokk, 1721-1761. A homlokzatával északkeli irányba néző templom a város legmagasabb pontján, a Várhegyen áll, ezért is nevezik a helyiek Vártemplomnak. Főhomlokzata előtt bal oldalt feszület áll. A barokk főhomlokzatot középen két-két, a széleken egy-egy pilaszter három részre tagolja. Copf keretezésű ajtajának oszloplábazata volutás. Az oromfal két szélén szintén voluta helyezkedik el. A két oldalsó szoborfülkékben Assisi Szent Ferenc és Páduai Szent Antal, az oromzatiban Szűz Mária alakja, az timpanonban pedig a ferences jelvény látható, a tetején kettőskereszt magasodik.
