Summary
[edit]DescriptionHoly Cross Church - C15 baptismal font - geograph.org.uk - 1352083.jpg |
English: Holy Cross Church - C15 baptismal font. Holy Cross church > 1352081 at Stoke Holy Cross is situated on an elevation beside Norwich Road. It is one of the New Wine network of churches. New Wine is a mission organisation whose vision is 'to see the nation changed through Christians and churches being filled with the spirit, the joy of knowing and worshipping Jesus Christ'. The entry on the Norfolk Churches website > http://www.norfolkchurches.co.uk/stokeholycross/stokeholycross.htm dating from October 2006 shows pictures of the church with pews still in place. All pews have since been removed and replaced by chairs > 1352092 - 1352100. Extensively restored in the late 1800s, a somewhat peculiar feature of the church is the C15 font which is leaning against the exterior tower wall. The stained glass windows > 1352095 - 1352098 date from the late 19th and early 20th century. This church is kept locked but a key is available at the vicarage. |
