Summary
[edit]DescriptionHollins Residence 12-14 West 56th Street.jpg | The Henry B. and Evalina Hollins Residence at 12-14 West 56th Street between Fifth Avenue and the Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue) in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1899-1901, designed by the firm of McKim, Mead & White in Colonial Revival style. The house was converted into the Calumet Club in 1914, and architect J.E.R. Carpenter made alterations for the club in 1924, removing the central entrance and constructing the wing with porch on the east side of the building (left). The building has been occupied by the Consulate General of Argentina since 1947, and was designated a NYC landmark 1984. (Source: Guide to NYC Landmarks (4th ed.)) |
