Summary
[edit]DescriptionHolderness Road - geograph.org.uk - 94254.jpg |
English: A confusing scene of 1990s era deregulated bus provision in Holderness Road, Kingston upon Hull. The blue bus is Kingston upon Hull City Transport Ltd (KCHT) no. 135 (reg. E135 SAT), a 1987 Dennis Dominator with East Lancs bodywork. It's not in either of the contemporary KCHT blue and white liveries of the time, instead wearing the swooped blue & white livery used by KCHT predecessor Hull Corporation until the 1970s. This was applied some years ago in celebration of the 90th anniversary of transport in Hull (1899-1989). Two identical buses also recieved different special liveries, 136 in another HCT blue scheme and 137 in the maroon and cream of Hull Tramways. The bus behind is also a KCHT bus, but like 135 it also isn't wearing standard livery, instead wearing the green of KHCT's subsidiary fleet Citilink. Only the third bus in the distance is not a KHCT bus, being a red & cream bus of KHCT competitor Connor & Graham (reg. YNA 358M), 1974 Daimler Fleetline with Northern Counties 'Manchester Standard' bodywork, being an ex-Greater Manchester Transport bus (No. 7403). |
