Summary

[edit]
Description The VK introduced in 1984 was the forerunner of the VL, shown earlier and a relatively substantial upgrade of the first generation Commodores. Aside from plastic bumpers, blacked out rear end and new slatted grille the main visual clue from earlier models is the rear quarter windows, which also followed on to the VL. Mechanically the range of engine capacities was reduced to a 5.0L V8 (later a 4.9L for Group A racing homologation) or a 3.3L straight six, although EFi was introduced as an option on the six for the first time.
