Photographed in Somerset West, South Africa. The egg is the white object between the prosoma and the opisthosoma. The spider was found in broad daylight, which is fairly unusual, and the egg looks very fresh, so it is likely that the spider had been disturbed by the activity of the fly. Such parasitism has been documented, but apparently is seldom observed. The egg in this case was not noticed till it was too late to secure the specimen or observe the outcome. .
