Op de voorgrond is Susanna te identificeren, die in een afgesloten gedeelte van de tuin een bad wil nemen. Haar dienstmeisjes hebben juist de poort van de tuin gesloten en zijn op weg om balsem en oliën op te halen. (Daniël 13: 17-18). Twee rechters, die de naakte Susanna begluurden, komen tevoorschijn en proberen haar vast te grijpen (Daniel 13:20-24). Uit het huis in de achtergrond stromen de bewoners naar buiten om te zien wat er aan de hand is (Daniel 13:26). Twee pauwen (symbool voor hoogmoed) en twee konijnen (symbool voor wellust) zijn ook afgebeeld. De prent maakt deel uit van een album.
