Deutsch: Hochmutting (Oberschleißheim), Landtafeln des Philipp Apian von 1568, Zusammensetzung aus den Tafeln 14 (Freising) und 18 (München), Erläuterung aus Bavarikon: 1554 erhielt Philipp Apian, Professor der Mathematik an der bayerischen Landesuniversität in Ingolstadt, von Herzog Albrecht V. (1528-1579; Herzog ab 1550) den Auftrag zur Anfertigung einer genauen Karte Bayerns. Bis 1561 bereiste er daraufhin mit seinen Begleitern die Sommer über systematisch das Land und nahm zahllose Vermessungen vor. Das Ergebnis dieser Landaufnahme bildete eine 1563 fertiggestellte gemalte Karte von 25 Quadratmetern Umfang, die in der Bibliothek des Herzogs ihren Platz fand, bis man sie 1782 wegen ihres schlechten Erhaltungszustandes verbrannte. Ausgehend von dieser großen Karte im Maßstab 1 : 40.000 erstellte Apian danach eine verkleinerte Fassung im Maßstab 1 : 144.000. Diese Karte teilte Apian in 24 Segmente plus eine Übersichtskarte ein, die er 1567 von Jost Amman (1539-1591) in Holz schneiden ließ (die Druckstöcke sind heute im Bayerischen Nationalmuseum München). 1568 erschienen die Landtafeln erstmals über die Druckerei Apians, kurz bevor er als Protestant Ingolstadt und Bayern verlassen musste. Die Vermessung Bayerns durch Apian ist die genaueste ihrer Zeit; die Landtafeln bildeten bis in die napoleonische Zeit die Grundlage für alle kartographischen Darstellungen Bayerns. Erst der Topographische Atlas des Königreichs Bayern wurde zum wirklichen Nachfolger der Karte Apians. |
