Deutsch: Bischof Lantpert in der Galerie der Freisinger Bischöfe im Fürstengang, der Verbindung zwischen Dom und fürstbischöflicher Residenz. Lantpert betet für den Schutz seines Domberges vor der Zerstörung durch die eingefallenen Ungarn, im Hintergrund der Dom über der brennenden Stadt.
Die Porträts in der „Ahnengalerie“ schuf der Freisinger Hofmaler Franz Joseph Lederer (1676–1733) im Auftrag von Johann Franz Eckher von Kapfing und Liechteneck, Freisinger Fürstbischof 1695–1727. Sie werden ergänzt durch Wappentafeln mit Kurzbiographien.
English: Bishop Lantpert in the gallery of the Freising bishops in the Fürstengang, the connection between the cathedral and the prince-bishop's residence. Lantpert prays for the protection of his cathedral hill from destruction by the invading Hungarians, in the background the cathedral over the burning city.
The portraits in the "Ancestral Gallery" were created by the Freising court painter Franz Joseph Lederer (1676–1733) on behalf of Johann Franz Eckher von Kapfing und Liechteneck, Freising Prince-Bishop 1695–1727. They are supplemented by coats of arms with short biographies. |
