ADMINISTRATION OF RELIEF. 271 coffee are given out at every meal, and meat twice aday. Each holder of a ticket for food is admittedthrough the main entrance, and is at once directed tothe circular counter in the middle of the rink. Oneof the clerks in waiting receives the ticket, and issuessupplies in proportion to the number of mouths to befed. The arrival of the Rev. C. G. Truesdale of Chicago,who was chairman of the Chicago Relief Committee,and who was sent out by that city to assist the peopleof Saint John and to advise the merchants of his owncity as to the kind of contributions most needed,changed the whole proceedings, and brought the workinto a still more systematic form. Under his superin-tendence, the Relief Association was re-organized,and the following committees appointed: — BOARD OF DIEECTOES. Mayor S. Z. Earle, president; W. H.
