The weather was bad, yet a great crowd of citizensassembled at the time appointed, and were addressed by John Lamb.After stating the object of the meeting, he read letters from Boston andPhiladelphia on the subject of the dutied tea ; he also read the Asso-ciation of the Sons of Liberty, with the resolutions previously adopted.Just then the Mayor, Whitehead Hicks,^ entered, accompanied by theEecorder, Eobert R Livingston (afterwards Chancellor), and, taking hisplace near the speaker, said : — .
