The sausages were weighed and put in the bag, which the orderly, Comrade Fowler, thenfastened behind his saddle. The Generalstarted up the beach, followed by theorderly on a brisk gallop, but they hadnot gone more than a mile or two beforeFovJler thought of the bag of sausagesand put his hand behind to feel if it wereall right.
