Carroll says the length of theHooded Seal, from nose to tail, is 6 to 8 feet, and that theweight of the male, when in full flesh , varies from 800 to 900pounds, of which the skin and fat form 350 to 450 pounds,while the skin and fat of the female, when prime, will weighonly 150 to 200 pounds.
