Ten namesof that description were submitted to be balloted for;when the name Roslyn was found to have the great-est number of votes, and was afterwards unanimouslyapproved by all who were present. We signed our namesto a paper expressing that approbation, which will nowbe submitted to the inhabitants generally for signature.I hope they will be pleased with it for we have takenmuch pains to get all the most suitable names that couldbe found from which to make a selection. And nowwhether we have made the best possible selection or notI cannot say; but it will at any rate remedy the difficultyin the Post-Office, and that was the principal thing wewanted. We had about half a dozen very good Indiannames, and I was almost sorry that one of them was notadopted.
