They were the parents of nine children, as fol-lows : Robert, deceased; George, deceased; John, deceased; David, CivilBend; Ellen, married A. C. Cope, both deceased; Elizabeth, deceased;Evelyn, married William Black, both deceased; William, deceased; Isaac,retired banker, Loveland, Colo. John F. Henderson was reared on his fathers farm in Daviess County.He had very little education. During his entire life, he was engaged infarming and stock raising, becoming one of the successful stockmen ofthe county. He owned 600 acres of land in Daviess County, and was abreeder of cattle, hogs and horses. In politics Mr. Henderson was aDemocrat. He died Oct. 6, 1908, and is buried in Creekmore Cemetery.His widow now resides in Gallatin and is the owner of 440 acres of land inDaviess County, which she rents. Mrs. Henderson is a Democrat and amember of the Methodist church. Mr. and Mrs. Henderson had no child- 2> 03 O a:^ d O

Andrew W. Canaday, for the past seven years a dealer in real estate inStanberry, is a member of one of the best known families in the county.The Canaday family is of Scotch Irish descent, and settled here in the pio-neer days. Andrew W. Canaday was born five miles west of Albany inHuggins Township, Sept. 20, 1881. John Canaday, grandfather of A. W. Canaday, came from CareyCounty, Ky., and was one of the first settlers of Huggins Township. He andhis brothers, Jefferson, Caleb, Riley and W. T., came to Gentry County atthe same time and all entered land. They were all prominent workers in theChristian church, and the site of the Old Brick Church was donated byJefferson Canaday, as was also the grounds for the cemetery. Riley Cana-day became a well known merchant of Albany, and the other brotherswere
