Text: After the war, flowers from the garden were used for the Union cemetery. The report gives recommendations for restoring the garden to its historic appearance circa 1861. Image: Two photos of the area for the garden circa 1864. Photos show that the area is a grass lawn with a paved path and a memorial called the “Temple of Fame.” Caption reads “Present condition of the area proposed for the restoration-reconstruction of the Arlington flower garden.
