Summary
[edit]DescriptionHistoric Chung Mei Home building viewed from courtyard of modern annex building..jpg |
English: Chung Mei Home Historic District, 1760 Elm St, El Cerrito, California. The building on the left was built for the Chung Mei Home for Chinese Boys. It was first used in 1935. The building partially shown on the right is a modern school building located on the same property.
The mosaic mural partially shown in this photo was designed and created by artist Arlin Robins in 2008, at the request of Windrush School, who held the property at that time. The dragon depicted in the mosaic purposely references the wind dragons that are displayed above the main doorway to the historic building (see separate photograph at https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Chung_Mei_Home_main_doorway_architectural_detail.jpg). The mosaic mural is made of tile, marble, travertine, art glass, and auto glass. Mosaic artist Arlin Robins has granted the photographer permission to upload this photo of her mosaic to WikiMedia, with the understanding that the photo can be used without restrictions. On 2014-09-05, photograher requested that artist send OTRS standard email template permission to confirm.
