都市公園としての概要は次の通り。名称：平尾大池公園(ひらおおおいけこうえん)、所在地：810-0014福岡市中央区平尾五丁目21番、地番：平尾五丁目326番、公園種別：風致公園、面積：8,535m2、開園年度：1998[1][2]。当該公園は治水池を多目的に利用するために公園として整備されたもので、概要は次の通り。名称：平尾大池(ひらおおおいけ)、調節容量：14,850立方メートル、流末河川：那珂川、備考：多目的利用[3]、附属施設：平尾水防倉庫（面積：26.49平方メートル）[4]。治水池であるため、水位が上がる降雨時は、公園としての利用はできない。
