Description Hippos basking in the sun on the banks of the Masai River, unmindful of the awful stench, and and the vultures and cranes feeding on dead wildebeest carcasses just meters away.In Hippoland, size apparently does matter, for the fierce Nile Crocodiles, which think nothing of eating any creature that might venture to the water, including man, do not bother the hippos. (Oct/ Nov. 2010)
