English: Hill fort on Bewick Hill This is an impressive Iron Age hill fort with an extensive series of defensive ditches. There is also a more modern defensive system in the form of two British anti-invasion pillboxes dating back to World War 2. One of the concrete pillboxes is centre right in this view. |
