English: Hill Loch At the beginning of the twentieth century, Hylton Philipson, having just bought Stobo estate, decided to dam Weston Burn, which flowed through the estate, in order to generate energy to power the estate sawmill and Stobo Castle itself. Hill Loch was formed in the process. |
