Description
English: Microwave imagery has also been spectacular showing a very small eye and storm core representing the maximum winds. The tropical microwave imager (TMI) is a polar orbiting earth satellite (POES) that has both a passive microwave imager (that produces similar imagery to the previous link), as well as an active precipitation radar that is able to actively measure the intensity of precipitation in the tropics in small swaths.
