her thatthe police force had arrived. So welldid Miss Robison read that theaudience could not help feeling thetense excitement of the moment. Miss Winston Newton in her usualpleasing way sang Stolen Wingsby Willeby. This was followed byanother piano solo by Miss Walker—Godards Artistique Etude. MissWalker showed a wonderful talentfor, and understanding of music inall of her work. The final number was The Neigh-bor by Katherine Holland Brown, read by Miss Robison. This story ofold Bible times was so entirely dif-ferent from her .first reading thatit required an altogether differentiwtetprctation, which Miss Robison.gave to it with remarkable ease andskill. In both readings each charac-ter stood out clearly and distinctly, yet none were overdone. The per-fection with which she gave such avariety of impersonations proved toher audience her remarkable abilityas a reader. Text Appearing After Image:
PREP. DEBATERS WIN AGAIN Work on the construction of theThaw Memorial Hall has reached asufficient stage to cause officials ofthe College to confidently expectthat the handsome structure will beready for occupancy when the schoolyear begins next September. Thebuilding will cost about $150,000 ardwill be the largest building on Col-lege Hill. The erection of the building wasmade possible in part by a liberalcontribution made by Mrs. Mary C.Thaw in 1919 to the Centennial For-ward Fund, and it will be calledThaw Memorial Hall in memory ofMr. William Thaw who did so much-toward rebuilding the College afterthe Civil War. The excavation for the hall was begun nearly a year ago, but theformidable difficulties in the secur-ing workmen .and materials hasmade the work go very slowly. How-ever the roof is now being put onand it will certainly be ready foruse at the opening of the next schoolyear. The first floor of the Thaw Hallwill easily take care of 800 board-ers, while 1,000 could be crowded
