Text Appearing Before Image:
STUMPP & WALTER CO.'S BULB CATALOGUE. 31 WINTER-FLOWERING CARNATIONS. Fine, healthy, field-grown plants, specially selected for winter-forcing. EVELINA. A very early, free and con- tinuous blooming variety ; pure white, of large size, fine form, and with good stiff stems. FLORA HILL. Unquestionably the grandest white carnation to date. The plant is a healthy, clean grower, en- tirely free from rust or disease, of the easiest possible management and wonderfully free in bloom. Flower of enormous size, of nice rounded form, highly clove scented and all borne on very long stems, making it an ideal variety for cut flowers. GOLD NUGGET. The best and most desirable yellow carnation. The plant is a strong healthy grower; flowers medium to large, deep yellow, lightly penciled red; of fine form, with full high centre. JUBILEE. Color intense scarlet, of richest shade, of large size and form, with long stiff stems. An early and free bloomer; undoubtedly the best scarlet to date. MRS. JAMES DEAN. Color clear, silvery pink; of largest size and fine full form; an unusually strong healthy grower and free from all disease Stems very long and stiff; calyx always per- fect; considered the best light pink carnation. HRS. GEORGE M. BRADT. The most beautiful and striking of the fancy varieties, of largest size and most per- fect form with full high centre. Color pure white, striped and beautifully penciled on the edges with bright scarlet. NEW YORK, Bright cerise-pink, the most brilliant of all pink varieties.
Text Appearing After Image:
The flowers are very large, with VICTOR. The ideal bright pink, long stiff stems. WM. SCOTT. Delicate light pink, with finely fringed petals; flowers of large size on long stems that hold the flower erect. A splendid keeper, lasting a long time when cut. LIZZIE ricGOWAN. A grand white variety. Very large; often measuring two and one-half to three inches in diameter. The calyx never bursts, and the flowers, which are very fragrant, keep fresh a remarkable length of time after being cut.
