Description Panoramic view of the Middle Basin. Here the Stillwater Fork of the Bear River starts. All water from here goes to the Great Salt Lake, whereas another side of the ridge is the origin of Duchesne River, which goes into the Green River, then Colorado River and ends up in the Gulf of California, Pacific. The largest central lake is the Ryder Lake. Another, on the left, is the McPheters Lake. The others, smaller ones, about 40 of them, are probably unnamed. This is too isolated place to be frequent with visitors. The closest accessible by car campground is about 8 miles to the north.
