Description
English: A Public Works Department photograph.

The High Street Post Office building on the corner of Tuam and High Streets was completed in 1932. With much of the architectural heritage of central city Christchurch lost after the 2011 quake, the art-deco building stands as a survivor. The Post Office ceased operating there in the 1990s, after initially retreating to the back of the building - the front then being occupied by Christchurch institution Alice in Videoland. Today Alice’s shares the building with C1 Espresso café.
