Summary

[edit]
Description

Two First Great Western high speed trains (HSTs) are seen at Cardiff Central on a warm August afternoon in 2015. On the right a London Paddington-bound train stands at Platform 2, with the train on the right has just arrived from London. Most HSTs heading to London use Platform 1 at Cardiff Central, and I have often wondered why they rarely use Platform 2, which once seemed to be common place.

The photograph was taken from the roof of Jacob's Antique Centre, which provides a fine view of the station, especially the eastern end/
