Summary

Description
English: "Mary Malin's wedding gown was a great success. Everybody said so. It was made of white colored crepe de chine -- the conventional white satin isn't necessary any more -- and the trimming was lace and ribbon -- that new radium ribbon, that really looks like moonlight. Mary is the first one to use it. She sent to New York for it. It was sewed on by hand in the shape of bowknots; and they tell me that a little bowknot, either of ribbon sewed on, or of embroidery in linen, appears on every garment the girl has. She got the idea from Mrs. Ted Terry's fleur-delis. The skirt was made in box plaits, flaring at the foot, and each plait was ornamented with the bowknot of ribbon. The belt was of crushed ribbon and the bodice was made with a bertha of duchesse lace set into bands reaching to the belt. She wore a beautiful brooch. Soemone said it was diamonds; but it was pearls. Much better taste for a bride, too; but bridegrooms don't always think of that. Her veil was plain tulle and she wore it over her face. I never saw Mary Malin look better; too bad she can't always wear a wedding veil."
