| Description |
English: While on vacation on the northwest coast of Maui, we were lying on the beach of the Outrigger Eldorado Condos in Kaanapali, and noticed a vertical column vapor cloud quickly forming over the nearby island of Lanai. It originally alarmed the beach-goers because it resembled what was first thought to be a volcanic vapor cloud, but it was soon confirmed not. The natural colors and contrast make it a striking photo, and the cloud was quickly dissipated with the winds within an hour. |
