Description
English: Hexagonal tile with a Persian poem. It praises the building in which it was installed (Sırçalı Medrese), in Konya, Anatolia, Turkey. This was a legal and theological school in the capital city of Rum Seljuk Sultanate. Earthenware, opaque aubergine and turquoise glaze. Around 1242 CE. Islamic Art Museum (Museum für Islamische Kunst), Berlin, Germany.
