(1 in a multiple picture album) I love this water reflection of the Mount Whitney range behind the red volcanic mounds. Look closely at the left center and you'll see the Blue Heron flying away from me. In the right corner you can see the ripples in the still water where he had stood for some time watching me take pictures. He finally ran out of patience. Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the contiguous United States is just visible beyond Lone Pine Peak, the large one on the left. Look down its right flank and you'll see Whitney peaking over. It looks shorter because it is further away. |
