Summary
[edit]DescriptionHermann Boehm, 1942 Feb.jpg |
English: Hermann Boehm (1884–1972) was a German Admiral General during World War II, commanding the German naval forces in occupied Norway until 1943.
The portrait captures a moment during the "State Act" ceremony at Akershus Castle in Oslo on February 1, 1942, where Reichskommissar Josef Terboven installed Vidkun Quisling as Prime Minister of Norway, marking formal NS control. Despite Quisling's hopes for real power and peace, German supervision continued until liberation on May 8, 1945.
