Description
English: Herman Rolf was born in 1880 and spent his early years on a farm in Dearborn County, Indiana. He later moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where he joined his brother in the plumbing business. Mr. Rolf distinguished himself as an inventor of a hot water heater that sold successfully both locally and abroad. He served as president and manager of a local company that manufactured and sold thousands of the heaters. In his spare time, Mr. Rolf enjoyed playing baseball and pitching horseshoes. He was also the coach of the curling team. Herman Rolf lived with his wife, the former Carey Meismer, and their two daughters, Marcella and Betty Margaret, at 1785 Coventry Road in Upper Arlington.
