Description |
English: A cast copper-alloy harness pendant in the shape of a lozenge, complete with small, broadly ovoid, hanger. Base of hanger is folded over to form a hinge; hinge-pin still extant, and pendant is suspended from this. Extensive remains of blue enamel on hanger and both sides of the pendant, which also shows the outlines of lions in red enamel.
Face is divided into four sections, bearing the arms France Ancient (azure, semy de lys or) quartering England Ancient (gules, 3 lions passant guardant in pale or; the quartered arms are referred to as England Modern). Suspension mount face and back of pendant also bear France Ancient. Measurements: overall length 70.9 mm; pendant 32.4 mm x 53.5 mm including suspension loop. |
